Then....I walked into Wal-Mart! Super Wal-Mart to be exact, which is about 10-15 minutes further from my house, but so worth it because my Wal-Mart has NO teacher stuff. There I was, walking through the Back to School section very unsuspecting, when I stumbled upon an.entire.isle. of teaching AWESOMENESS! There were a couple different patterns that you could find on multiple items. It was great! Then, I saw border that was red with pencils on it, the same pattern as the lone tins I purchased last summer at Wal-Mart for my "Sharp/Not Sharp" pencil cups, and it clicked. I had a color scheme! So, I loaded my cart up with all the items I could find with this pattern, and skipped off to the register. Okay, so I actually spent like 30 minutes in this aisle, but you get the drift. I'm pretty sure Wal-Mart is trying to keep up with Target in the teacher department seeing as how last year my Wal-Mart had practically no teacher stuff and this year they have a whole aisle. Both stores have cute stuff, but Wal-Mart's teacher aisle has everything for $0.88! I know this is only 12 cents cheaper than Target's $1 Spot, but when you're buying in bulk it really adds up!
Here are the goods:
I think this pencil boarder is super cute! I plan on using it to line all of the bulletin boards, white boards, and chalk boards in my room to provide consistency.
These are the name tags with the same pattern. I plan on using the matching stickers to label my library bins, student book bins, lunch count display, and to organize center materials and manipulatives.
I plan on using these pencil accents as student name tags, cubby name tags, and to label other things around the room.
I found these magnetic bathroom passes at Michaels for $1.
I got these chair toppers from Target's Dollar Spot and I plan to use them with my Daily Stars.
I also got these pocket charts from Target. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them, but I had to buy them because they were purple. I bought pocket charts from Target last year, but they didn't have purple, so I had to complete my set.
These magnetic locker holders came from the Dollar Tree. I will use these for lunch count sticks.
These bookmarks are from Target.
I was so excited to find these in Michael's $1 aisle. I bought the National Geographic notecards as birthday cards for students. I plan on getting those ready this summer. In the middle are the super cute tile coasters I also picked up in the $1 aisle. I have been looking for coasters like these for a while because my cup always leaves a water ring on my desk and guided group table.
